An MOT test certificate confirms that at the time of the MOT testing, without dismantling the vehicle, it met the minimum acceptable environmental and road safety standards required by law. It does not mean that the vehicle is roadworthy for the life of the the certificate and the MOT test does not cover the condition of the engine, clutch or gearbox.
In order to have your vehicle MOT tested you must bring along your vehicles V5 document (log book). The diagram below shows the components that will be inspected to ensure they meet the minimum MOT testing requirements by law.
